Working from Home – is it all Soaps and Snugly Sleepwear?

Work from home in Snugly Sleepwear

We all love snugly sleepwear and following on from some research which showed we are all wearing it more often (90 per cent of the 2,000 people surveyed admitted to wearing pajamas while relaxing at home), comes new research which claims 60% of home workers do so in their pajamas. Figures suggest that the number of people working from home has increased by a fifth in 10 years. However if this new research is correct it seems 40% of us get more distracted when at home than in the workplace. Of these, the main causes of distraction are as follows:

Doing household chores: 64% – amazing how interesting the laundry becomes when working from home.

Chatting to friends and family at home: 64%

Running personal errands: 60%

Amazingly, 61% of women and 53% of men say they have stayed in their snugly sleepwear all day. During video calls some workers only appear to be smart on the parts of their body visible to the camera. If that’s true, there is a whole new market for half a shirt or jacket. But, proving that there is research to support any opinion you have, the NY post reported in October that home workers were more likely to be productive in order to prove to everyone that they’re not just sitting around in snugly sleepwear watching daytime soaps. Probably the truth is that it depends on the type of work you do and the type of person you are. Working at home requires self-discipline and can be a solitary experience. Here is some good advice from a lawyer in Canada for making the most of working from home. Number two on her list of tips is “wear work clothes – when you work from home, it’s so easy to wear yoga pants, sweats or even your pajamas all day long……. You don’t have to wear business attire, but come up with what makes you feel like it’s time to work.” Sound advice, but if your prefer snugly sleepwear try our footed polar funzee – it’s cozy and warm and you can always accessorize it with half a tie for those video calls.
